The Body Shop was established in 1976 as a provider of enriching and naturally-inspired beauty products. With over 200 stores in the UK and operations in 50+ countries, the brand is a global ethics leader. Dtech Systems was tasked with bringing this global standard to the Saudi Arabian market through a localized, robust e-commerce engine.
The Retail vs E-commerce Gap
Limited Market Reach
Physical retail stores were limited to metropolitan cities and were not sufficient to cater to the demand pouring in from all regions of the country. A lack of an online presence meant The Body Shop was losing potential consumers who research products online before buying in-store (approx. 88% of shoppers).
